Borsso BS30 Pro projector Review The Best Budget Full HD Brightest Projector

The Review Of The Newly Released Borsso BS30 Pro Projector

This is the Borsso BS30 Pro projector, which according to the company is an upgraded version of their previous model Borsso BS30. The built quality of the projector is decent. On its upper surface there is a metallic Black brushed metallic finish, whereas, on the front, there is a grey matte finish. For the protection of the lens, a plastic cover is provided with this projector. On the upper surface, you get touch buttons and on the right side of the lens, there is a sticker highlighting Borsso BS30 Pro in gold. Surrounding the lens is a Chrome lining, which enhances the looks of this projector.

On this side, there is a focus wheel and this projector also has the provision for a removable dust filter. To keep the projector cool, multiple vents have been provided on it. On the back side, there is a power port, an AV port, a headphone jack, 2 HDMI ports and 2 USB ports, apart from the speaker. Beneath the legs of the projector, screw threads have been provided, through which, you can ceiling-mount this projector. On the front, there is a screw, which comes in handy during desktop projection, when you want to increase the height. The built quality of the remote is decent. It is the same remote that came with the Borsso BS30 projector. On the remote, apart from picture settings, you get buttons for almost all important functions. Now let's talk about the features and specifications of this projector, according to the company. This projector comes with the same specifications as seen on the Borsso BS30 projector. It is just that this new model comes with higher brightness and contrast ratio. According to the company, the peak brightness of this projector is 8000 lumens, its lamp life is 50,000 hours and the dynamic contrast ratio is 18000:1. According to the company, this projector is capable of projecting a screen size of 300 inches. It comes with 4D digital keystone correction, apart from electronic zoom. And, it also has a removable dust filter on it. This is an Android projector, which comes with Wi-Fi and Miracast. It has 1 GB RAM and 8GB of storage. For audio, there is a 3 Watts speaker.

Now let us talk about the real performance of this projector. On this projector, you get a 4D keystone correction feature, which helps in the formation of a perfectly rectangular screen. Though this projector does not come with an auto-focus, this cannot be considered a drawback for it, because in auto-focus projectors focus tends to shift intermittently and thus you need to set the focus multiple times. Whereas, in projectors with manual focus, you just need to set the focus once, till the time you change its place.

So now, let's talk about the brightness of this projector. Here, I would like to remind you once again, that none of the budget projectors has more than 4000 lumens of brightness, even if the company has stated 10000 lumens as its value. Beating its previous model, Borsso BS30, this is the brightest budget projector as of now. First of all, I would like to show you a side-by-side comparison of both, so that you can come to know whether this projector is brighter than its previous version or not. Definitely, this Borsso BS30 Pro is an upgraded version of the Borsso BS30 projector as its brightness is much more.

This is the performance of this projector on a simple white screen. The picture quality is amazingly good and you get a very good cinematic experience on it. The contrast ratio of the projector is fairly good and you get to see very vibrant colours on it. Blacks look deep and the detail clarity of this projector is also good. The pictures also look sharp, and, you get a very good overall picture quality. Motion blur is much controlled on this projector, you can see that this projector passes this motion blur test nicely. Watching movies on this projector is an amazingly good experience. After buying this projector, you will not need to go to a cinema hall as this projector gives you a cinema-hall-like big-screen experience, within the confines of your home. But don't misinterpret me, thinking that this projector is capable of beating BenQ and other higher brands projectors because this is not true! Leave aside the budget category, even the projectors that come between 50k and 60k, will not be able to beat any DLP projector of the higher brand. But, this is true, that this projector can beat the Samsung Freestyle projector in performance. Though this projector comes with an HDR option, here, I would reiterate that in none of the budget category projectors, you get True HDR support. Some projectors do show HDR on screen, but, it is only software-based support that does not work in reality. Even a software update removes this screen presence of HDR. For real HDR support, you need to buy projectors from BenQ and Optoma that are being sold at around 1.5 lakhs, which mention HDR in their specifications. If we talk about the ideal screen for this projector: Though its performance on a white screen is also very good, its best performance is got on a grey screen. For your convenience, I have given the links to some very good white and grey screens in the description box. You can choose the size according to your requirement.

Coming to its audio; The audio of this projector is also good, apart from being loud, it is clear and quality-rich. Generally, you can comfortably watch all programs through its speakers only, but for a cinema-hall-like experience, you will need a home theatre with it. The main charm of this projector is that it comes with an HDMI ARC, through which, you can connect it to any soundbar that has an HDMI port. For this, you need to follow the instructions given on this screen. The performance of this projector is good even in an illuminated room. As the brightness of this projector is pretty good and the text also appears sharp and well-focused, you can use it for classroom teaching purposes also. Now coming to its smartness; this is the Android UI of this projector. But, here also, you need to know that none of the projectors come with an official Android. This is the reason why the Android experience on any projector is not good. It holds no significance whether there is the latest Android on any projector or not, it is important only if there is an official Android on it.

On a projector, you get the best viewing experience only on YouTube, where you get the support of 1080p resolution. Whereas, on other applications, you get a very low-resolution video, which spoils the viewing experience. To make a projector fully smart you will need an Android TV box. I will not suggest the Amazon Fire TV stick, because, on many budget projectors you do not get 4K support with it. The Amazon Fire TV stick supports 4K only on those devices that come with an HDMI whose HDCP version is 2.2, and, most of the budget projectors come with a lower version of HDMI. As the Mecool TV box is not available in India, the Mi TV box is the best option for projectors, as of now. When you will connect this projector to any good Android TV box, you will also get some amount of picture upscaling on it. I can show you a projection of 300 inches with this projector, but, technically speaking, I will not recommend you to go beyond 150 inches as I believe that going above that will be a compromise with the picture quality. Talking about the blur on the corners of the screen; it is not noticeable at all while watching contents, however, when text is displayed you might observe a 5% blur on any corner. And, this is common in all budget projectors. From a distance of 10 ft, this projector can make a screen up to 100 inches, so even if your room is small, you can definitely set up this projector. But you need to remember that the best performance of a projector can be got only when you project it from the centre. Projecting it from the extreme sides will make the corners look more blurry. Apart from the Android TV box, you can connect this projector to your DVD player, PlayStation and set-top box. Though it is advertised as a 3D projector on which you can watch 3D content through Red and Blue glasses, the experience you get through it is not good. If you want a real 3D experience, you will need a DLP projector with high brightness on which you can get a true 3D experience through active shutter glasses.
Coming to the noise of the projector's fan; the noise is not much, but, in the absence of audio, it does draw your attention. However, when you play content over it, the fan noise gets negligible.
The Miracast feature is there on this projector. However, when I tried casting the content of my Samsung phone, the casting was not smooth. For casting, you need to connect your phone and this projector to the same Wi-Fi network. If you will be using an Android TV box with this projector, not only will you get access to dual-band Wi-Fi, but, you would also be able to cast the content of your phone smoothly. As far as gaming is concerned, if you are a casual gamer, you would certainly enjoy playing PS5 games on it. The graphics of this projector are pretty good and you do not observe any stuttering or frame drop problems, while gaming. Gaming can be done smoothly on it.

Now let's talk about the aftersales services of this company. The Borsso company gives you one year warranty on this projector. During this period, the company bears the expenses of the courier services too, which most other companies do not do.

Friends now is the time to give you some tips on how to extend your projector's life. If you want to extend the durability of your projector, you need to protect it from intense heat. If you will use any projector continuously for long hours, like a TV, the chances of its display getting burnt are high. If there is no AC in your room, try to keep the projector in a place where the air from the fan reaches it properly. Play the projector continuously only for 3 to 4 hours and then give it a rest of 15 to 20 minutes, and then, when the projector gets cooled you can switch it on again. Remember, a projector can never replace a television! You should watch general programs on your TV, and, use the projector occasionally for watching movies or any sports event. And, when you are not using the projector, try to keep it covered, so that dust doesn't enter inside its chamber. If you will follow these two precautions, the durability of your projector will increase.
